In this world of technological advances in digital imagery, traditional art does not seem to be as actively pursued as it once was. It is my fervent hope that it never becomes a lost art.
There are many outstanding traditional artists on deviantART. This is my salute to a few of them whose drawings are very well-executed, appealing to the eye, and indicative of their superb talent.

I have a question for you. One thing I'm struggling with right now is that it seems that the traditional art of the contemporary art world has to be ugly or bizarre to be accepted. I've always found your work amazing and beautiful... pretty much the opposite of what the contemporary art world accepts. Is this something you've ever struggled with? And if so, how did you deal with it?

Personally I find myself unable to cope with all that traditional art entails - I'm just not strong enough physically, and at best, the only trad. art I can do is from a lap-tray, so it has to be done with pencils and the like. It's not by any means my first choice, but all I'm now able to do. Next to that, and probably the more so because of my limitations, I absolutely do love digital art using a Wacom Intuos 3 pen and tablet - when it's really well done (and I still have a verrrry lonnnnnng way to go in that!) - I see amazing pictures that have been created totally in this way, where the pressure pen and tablet are the tools alongside the various "paints" and pencils available in some good art programs, and the screen is the canvas. But for me, a great relaxation and enjoyment is to create fractal art that's out of the ordinary (none of your Apophysis these days, it's too limiting and commonly used IMO).
So... I say NEVER let go of the traditional values, but let's not in that process, overlook that amazing real-time painting that is achievable digitally.
You already know I am a total admirer of your own works, and also, I have the majority of the artists whom you've featured here in my own
